Has your fire door hardware been fully tested?

Full compliance for all components on a fire door assembly/doorset is critical.

SPARKA’s commitment to excellence in the quality of fire testing, and our aim to save lives and protect people and property, means that we work closely with industry partners to achieve full compliance, compatibility and peace of mind.

We work with UKAS accredited laboratories to undertake fire resistance testing for our full door hardware range (such as locks, latches, hinges, intumescent seals and door closers).

In order to support everyone possible, we test to both EN 1634 and BS 476.

Fire testing is the best path to abide by the legal requirement for manufacturers of fire doors, intumescents and their associated door hardware. We believe there is no substitute for physical test evidence to demonstrate fire resistance to the required length of time (30/60 minutes etc.) We partner with door blank manufacturers and closely associated components such as frame and glazing manufacturers alongside our fire door hardware and intumescents.

On one fire test, a doorset desinged for the minimum of 30 minutes fire rating, actually achieved the remarkable time of 44 mins, exceeding the basic requirements by 46%! This incorporated a range of SPARKA branded door closers, locks, latches, hinges, intumescent hardware protection, intumescents frame seals, smoke seals and door viewers.
